MAGNET

The continuation of Cedric Price's latest project: 'Magnet' proposed ten short life structures for cities which would provide public amenities and stimulate new patterns of public movement.

The site is key for this project, a place where time and transformation are vivid or polemical. Architecture, in its material form, is about how we use it and how it effects the social, political, economic and global environment in which it exits.

The architectural concept is 'free space as a gesture of generosity'. 'Free Space' is a term coined by architect and architectural thinker Cedric Price. His idea of free space was an unplanned space that can be used for transient events.

Site: Regents Park, London Zoo.

FREE ZOO - HIDDEN SPECTACLE

The design of this building is at the intersection of two thoroughfares. It offers views into the zoo and its immediate surroundings. The proposal transforms the visitor experience of the site, appealing to one or several senses. It offers a new perspective on the zoo and the environment that surrounds it.
